Hitchhiking to Morocco

Working to raise money for the Link Community Development (LCD), an organization working to raise funds for schools in Africa, Adam Brown, age 22 of Snells Mead, England will be hitchhiking to Morocco in April.

The distance of 1,600 miles doesn’t seem to bother the young computer-engineering student who says that he is looking forward to the adventure. “I’ve done a fair bit of traveling before,” he claims. Never before has he completed a trip like this and he admits that he is a bit “apprehensive” at completing a tour to Morocco by thumbing a lift – mostly hoping that people will actually pick him up.

The hitchhike is being promoted by the LCD foundation, which has been operating since the early 1990s. Adam isn’t the only one going along on the venture, either. His good friend Paul Sharratt, age 20, will also be going along during the Easter holiday break at their university. They hope to complete their journey in five to six days and thereafter remain to travel in Morocco for a few days of relaxation and sightseeing.

Once at Dover, they will cross the English Channel and make their way from France to the southern tip of Spain, where a ferry will take them to Gibraltar. Following, their journey into Morocco will be hours away where they have referenced will be one great adventure for an even greater cause. The two travelers are attempting to raise at least US $2000 for the charity and are looking for donations at Just Giving.
