Happy Independence Day, Morocco
November 18th is the day that France yielded and said Morocco had the right to independence and sovereignty. King Mohammed V returned from exile on November 18, 1955 and announced that Morocco was free from being a protectorate of France. He asked all Moroccans to work towards a new Morroco.
His grandson–at present King Mohammed VI–has received many messages congratulating him on Morocco’s anniversary of independence in the past few days. His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, each sent a message to the Moroccan King on this special day. Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Commander in Chief, Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa also sent a special congratulatory. His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos of Oman, expressed wishes of health, happiness and long life to King Mohammed VI as well as prosperity to the people of Morocco. Other Arab and world leaders all marked the occasion with words of praise to the King. As do we, Happy Independence Day, Morocco.
