Morocco Golf becoming Popular

Morocco offers endless miles of breathtaking scenic views and a wealth of Morocco outdoor activities to engage in. One activity that is increasing in popularity with residents and visitors alike is golf. Interest in the sport of golf began with King Hassan II who was a golf enthusiast at heart. From this love of golf, an international tournament was born, the Trophy Hassan II. Here, skilled golfers from across the globe would arrive in Morocco to face off on an internationally recognized golf course, the Royal Dar Es Salaam course. Other entrants into the competition included business and art industry celebrities.

Robert Trent Jones is the creative genius behind the Royal Dar Es Salaam golf course. This 45 hole course is located just shy of the Rabat city lines. Since its inception, the course has received numerous international rankings. The most prestigious being the 60th best course in the world ranking received by the Institute of British Tourism board. The entire list contained 500 courses worldwide. Professional and amateur golfers jump at the opportunity to play on the Royal Dar Es Salaam course.

A certain degree of appeal for the golf course comes from its natural surroundings. Picture perfect greens combine with exotic trees such as palm and eucalyptus to create a scenic playing field. Mixed in with these elements are ficus, papyrus and banana plants that add a tropical feel to the surroundings. Luscious aromas from mimosa, hyacinth and hibiscus bushes fill the air. All of these features work together to create one of the most visually stunning golf courses worldwide.

The Royal Dar Es Salaam course offers up more than just visual appeal. Golfers have three levels of difficulty to select from when playing the 45 hole course. For a relaxing game of traditional golf, there is the green course. Make no mistake, in true Royal Dar Es Salaam nature, this course is not for the weak hearted. There are challenges around almost every corner.

Next is the blue level course. This is basically a step up from the first course option. There are a few more challenging elements presented on this course. Last but certainly not least is the red course. Here a golfer faces water and driving obstacles. The key to being successful on this course is driver accuracy.

After a challenging round of golf on one of these courses, golfers can take advantage of other amenities provided by the club. This includes a luxury clubhouse, pro shop, tennis courts, swimming pools and a health spa. To work on improving the next game, there are driving ranges and putting greens to perfect golfers’ shots.
