Madeline McCann is again in the Morocco news! Moroccan schools, supermarkets and medical centers have all been blitzed with thousands of pictures of the missing four year old girl. Remote parts of the country are being sent letters written in Arabic and French. The young girl vanished from Praia Da Luz, Portugal last May. Many reported sightings in Morocco have convinced the girl’s parents and private investigators that she is still in this country. Convinced that she was abducted by a pedophile ring and smuggled into north Africa, the team is redoubling its efforts.
A new group has mailed out more than 11,000 fliers. The group known as Helping to Find Madeline is endorsed by Kate and Gerry McCann, Madeline’s parents. An email campaign has been sending information to private citizens and businesses in Moroccan cities. Helping to Find Madeline is now taking its campaign to rural Morocco. Getting Madeline’s picture and story to outlying areas of Morocco is a challenge. Rather than trying to reach individuals, the group is sending its letters to mosques, churches, pharmacies and the countryside.
Morocco, Spain, France and Portugal are the countries that are getting most of the attention in the search for Madeline. A new push in the efforts follow a TV appeal on Christmas by the McCanns. A family spokesman thanked those involved with the search. He related that it will be by combined efforts that Madeline is found.
