The cultural experiences combined with traditional Mediterranean climate year round provide residents and visitors with an eclectic mix of natural resources and old world charm. Wyndham resorts is capitalizing on this environment with the creation of the new Port Lixus Resort. This fabulous resort will be situated on the northern Atlantic coastline just 80 kilometers from Tangier and around the corner from Larache.

The Moroccan government has taken the necessary steps to back an initiative called Vision 2010. This calls for a minimum of six high end resorts catering to international visitors. Each of these six resorts will ensure visitors proper accommodation coming to Morocco through any season of the year. This initiative will be achieved by resorts offering recreational and leisure facilities for guest. King Mohammed VI started the initiative in 2001 as a way to tap into revenues generated by tourist dollars. These resort will further ensure that Moroccan employment will maintain a viable level with the creation of new jobs for each resort.

Corinthia Hotels International Limited (CHI Limited) will assume management duties of the new Wyndham resort upon its completion. This five star Port Lixus Resort will sit upon a parcel of land that overlooks the majestic Atlantic Ocean. On the other side of the resort there will be a lavish 17-hole golf course. This will afford guests room views overlooking the ocean or the golf course. There will be no “bad” room in the resort. Architecture will adhere to a contemporary design with influential ties to Moroccan and Asian heritages.

Restaurant and bar services will be available to guests throughout the resort. In addition, there will be a children’s playground area, conference room services and a swimming pool that is a stunning feature in and of itself. The pool contains a snack bar and beverage bar, both which have poolside swim-up service. Guests will be granted access to the lavish golf course and wellness spa for relaxation. There is also access to two beaches for soaking up the great Moroccan sunshine.

The royal treatment of guests does not stop with physical features of the resort. Guests have a selection of activities available. This list includes horseback riding, water sports and local guided tours of the area. Construction on the Wyndham Port Lixus Resort is set to begin in April 2008. Opening day is slated for June 2010.
