Guided Tours to Morocco TravelThomas has lived in Morocco for over six years. He has spent extensive time in country as an environmental volunteer. Stationed in various villages around the Moroccan countryside, he got to know the area and the people. He started working with Journey Beyond Travel, LLC because he found that other tour operators did not take people to see the ‘real’ Morocco. He is a Morocco tour specialist with JBT and often writes about Morocco for various publications.


Morocco Travel Tour LeaderFazia is the head tour leader correspondent with Journey Beyond Travel. She came to Journey Beyond Travel from a diverse cultural background – Portuguese, Brazilian, Guyanese, and Indian. She has been living in Morocco for over eleven years and considers Morocco her home. She majored in African Studies at university with a focus on Morocco. She speaks English, Moroccan Arabic, French, and Portuguese fluently, and knows Morocco inside out.

Morocco Travel Private ToursTerry is our website manager and a trekking Morocco correspondent. With an MA in writing and editing with plenty of energy to boot, he has become an invaluable staff member of the JBT Team. Most recently, he has started designing our web brochures, displaying his artistic flare. Terry is the managing editor of the JBT Morocco travel guide and will be leading more hiking and trekking Morocco tours in 2008, along with leading the new JBT Morocco Bike tour each April.



Morocco High Atlas Mountains GuideOmar is our High Atlas Mountain Trekking guide. He not only takes us up some of Morocco's most stunning peaks, but ensures that we have some of the best meals anywhere. He works on both our Morocco Undiscovered and Hidden Peaks itineraries. He is certified by the French Alpine Association and as an official mountain guide in Morocco. He is currently building his mountain lodge hotel.

Morocco Ziz Valley GuideAbdel Karim, also known lovingly as "Tata" works with Journey Beyond Travel as a helpful guide in the southern regions. He is also a member of a prominent and renowned band from the area. He takes our visitors on strolls through his village. With he and his family, you will also have the opportunity to share in a meal. Be sure to work up an appetite! Recently, Abdel has begun to put together longer itineraries in his region and throughout the souther oases. He, too, is currently building a small gite where tourists can spend the night to enjoy the area in its full splendor.

Morocco Rabat GuideSaid works with Journey Beyond Travel as our main go-to man in Rabat. He gives city Morocco tours for us. Said has traveled and lived in Europe, and has most recently appeared in films with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jodie Foster, among others. He enjoys working particularly with Ridley Scott. He'll be appearing in a film over the next year or so with Matt Damon.



Morocco Arabic MasterMike is Journey Beyond Travel's Secretary of the Board. He started his career as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer. After his service, he returned to Morocco to master his Arabic, to explore the country even more, and to help set up itineraries for his future language groups. He lives in New York City, working in various stints with the United Nations. He is also the founder and operator of the New York City Arabic Language Club.
