This is one of our most popular Morocco tours that takes you into the heart of Morocco's mesmerizing Sahara Desert. It can depart from Marrakesh or Fez and return to either city. It can also be done in four days. You can see those options below. It is designed for couples, families, or small groups who want to experience first hand what Morocco's desert has to offer. Enjoy a memorable time riding camels into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes before enjoying a dinner and time under the bright stars. We have our own private camp area away from potential crowds and our facilities are of the highest-quality that include regular beds on a frame that are up off of the ground with clean sheets and blankets. The floors inside the tents as well as outside in the common area are aligned with comfy carpets. We even have an eco-friendly, flushable western-style toilet facility that is a two minute walk from the camp. Candles light the way at night. In addition to our private camp area, we have a Deluxe Sahara Desert camping experience available here in Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) that includes a out with private tents and bathroom facilities. Either choice is an eye-opening, romantic, and some say "dreamy" experience.

Day 1: Pick up in Marrakesh | Ouarzazate | Ait Ben Haddou | Skoura (5hrs)
Today, you will depart from Marrakesh at 9 am. After passing over the Tizi n Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way you will stop for lunch and have the opportunity to visit the UNESCO world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou. You might also enjoy exloring Ouarzazate. This relatively new city is home to the Kasbah once owned by the Glaouis family, who ruled Morocco.
Day 2: Erg Chebbi in Merzouga (Sahara Desert) (5hrs)
Today, you will be taken to Merzouga. At the hotel, you can store any baggage and take an overnight bag with you. Following, prepare for a one hour jaunt on camel back into the desert. (Walking alongside the camels is also an option.) The night is spent dining alfresco under the stars followed by a night in a Bedouin-style tent. The tents are in our own private area without the hordes of people you might find in other camping locations. If you prefer not to camp out, simply ride the camel for one hour to view the sunset and spend the night at the kasbah hotel.
Day 3: Rissani | Ziz Valley | Erfoud (L) (3hrs)
After rising early, you will be able to ride the camels back to the hotel where you can take a shower, have breakfast, and then venture into the lush Ziz Valley. There, you will meet your local guide who will take you on a light walk through the surrounding farms, explaining the areas produce and farming techniques. Following, a real pleaser is lunch with the guide's family. The night will be spent in Erfoud.
Day 4: Tinjedad | Dades Valley (4hrs)
Following, you'll head through Tinjedad and to Boulmane. Here, you can enjoy a drive up into the scenic Dades Valley to witness Morocco's most amazing natural rock formations.
Day 5: Return Marrakesh (6hrs)
Today, you will head back over the Tizi N Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakesh.

This tour is priced for a minimum of two or more persons. If you are a solo traveler, please contact us for pricing. Each adult traveler (age of 11 or above) is required to pay a deposit per person. The remaining balance will be due before your trip begins. Groups with an odd number of travelers may require a single supplement if the extra person wishes to have their own room. Children under the age of two travel at no extra charge. Children older than two may require an additional bed in each room.
