Day 1: Arrive in Marrakesh (AT)
Today, you'll arrive into Marrakesh and be picked up at the airport. From there, you'll be taken to your riad.
Day 2: Marrakesh Guided Visit
In Marrakesh, today will be devoted to an optional private guided visit (with lunch) of the Marrakesh Medina (you can select this as an itinerary extra).
Day 3*: Marrakesh to High Atlas (L, D) (1.5 hrs)
Today, you'll depart Marrakesh at 9am and drive to the starting point for this walk where you will meet your mountain guide. You'll begin your walk in Imlil, passing through the village of Aroumd (Armed) before steadily making your way to the Toubkal Refuge. Five to seven hours trekking today.
Day 4: Trek High Atlas (L, D)
This morning, you'll rise with the sun to enjoy a quick pick-me-up breakfast before making your way up North Africa's highest peak, Mount Toubkal at 4167 meters, which takes two to four hours. After plenty of photos at the top, you'll descend back to the basecamp (which takes two to three hours) for lunch. Five to seven hours trekking today.
Day 5: Trek High Atlas (L, D)
This morning, you'll walk from the refuge returning to Aroumd (Armed) to enjoy a Berber guesthouse, hammam experience (local bath), and a homemade dinner. Five to seven hours trekking today.
Day 6*: Ouarzazate | Ait Ben Haddou | Skoura (D) (6hrs)
Today, you will depart from Marrakesh at 9 am. After passing over the Tizi n Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way you will stop for lunch and have the opportunity to visit the UNESCO world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou. You might also enjoy exloring Ouarzazate. This relatively new city is home to the Kasbah once owned by the Glaouis family, who ruled Morocco. In the winter months and on the 4-star Deluxe version of this trip, travelers will have the option to spend the night in the Dades Valley or in Ouarzazate.
Day 7*: Erg Chebbi in Merzouga (Sahara Desert) (D) (5hrs)
Today, you will be taken to Merzouga. At the hotel, you can store any baggage and take an overnight bag with you. Following, prepare for a one hour jaunt on camel back into the desert. (Walking alongside the camels is also an option.) The night is spent dining alfresco under the stars followed by a night in a Bedouin-style tent. The tents are in our own private area without the hordes of people you might find in other camping locations. If you prefer not to camp out, simply ride the camel for one hour to view the sunset and spend the night at the kasbah hotel. We have both standard and deluxe camps available.
Day 8*: Alnif | Dades Valley or Agdz (D) (4hrs)
Following, you'll head through to Alnif or Tinjedad and to Boulmane. Here, you can enjoy a drive up into the scenic Dades Valley to witness Morocco's most amazing natural rock formations. Travelers on the 3-star or 3/4-star trip can also choose to spend the night in Agdz to make this a more circuitous route giving a taste of the Draa Valley. This option adds on one more hour in transport.
Day 9*: Marrakesh (6hrs)
Today, you will head back over the Tizi N Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakesh.
Day 10: Depart Marrakesh (AT)
