Ait Bougmez Valley Trekking and Mgoun Massif

(Available May to November. Involves tent camping.)

Any of the following Ait Bougmez treks can be booked immediately online. Simply indicate your start date at the time of checkout. Trekking in the Mgoun Massif can be adjusted for various levels. Pick up & drop off in Marrakesh. Transport each each way is five hours. Because of this and the fact that Mgoun is quite removed makes these treks slightly more expensive than our regular High Atlas treks.

Tabant to Tafanant
Trekking: 4-5 hrs daily | Driving: 5 hrs

Day 1: Marrakesh to Tabant (1800m) to Azibnikis (2200m)

Day 2: Azibnikis to Ifri Nkhlifa (2900m & 2400m)

Day 3: Ifri to Tafanfant (2400m)

Day 4: Tafanfant to Tabant (2500m & 1800m)

Day 5: Return to Marrarkesh

Number of People:

Agouti to Mgoun Summit and Ait Imi Spring
Trekking: 4-6 hrs daily | Driving: 5 hrs

Day 1: Marrakesh to Agouti and then to Azibnikis (2200m)

Day 2: Azibnikis to Targdit Col (3450m) to Targdit Plateau (2900m)

Day 3: Targdit to M'Goun summit (4068m) to Oulilimt (2600m). Oulilimt Springs if desired. *Five hours hike to summit, eight hours with springs.

Day 4: Oulilimt to Tighremt Nait Ahmed (2300m) via Afelfal Springs, spend night in an abandoned lodge or tent camp.

Day 5: Tighremt N Has Hmd to Tizi Nait Imi (2900m) to the Ait Imi spring (1900m) and reservoir. Spend the night in Timit and visit the Sidi Moussa shrine.

Day 6: Transport back to Marrakesh. See the Ouzoud Waterfall en route.

Abachkou to Tarbat Tirssal and Igoulassem
Trekking: 4-6 hrs daily | Driving: 5 hrs

Day 1: Marrakesh to Tabant (1800m)

Day 2: Tabant to Abachkou - red valley (1700m)

Day 3: Abachkou to Tarbat Tirssal (2000m) via Tizi n Tirist (2400m)

Day 4: Tarbat Tirssal to Zaouia (1900m) via Sidi Boukhlef (2400m)

Day 5: Zaouia to Igoulassem (1800m)

Day 6: Igoulassem to Ait Sghrin (2000m & 1600m)

Day 7: Return to Marrarkesh

Ait Imi Springs to Kelaat M'Gouna
Trekking: 4-6 hrs daily | Driving: 5 hrs

Day 1: Marrakesh to Tabant (1800m) to Ait Imi Springs (2900m).
*Only two hours trekking today.

Day 2: Ait Imi Springs to Tighremt Ait Ahmed (2100m)

Day 3: Tighremt Ait Hmd to Tighremt Wow Chki.

Day 4: Tighremt Wow Chki to Tighanimin via gorges.

Day 5: Tighanimin to Ighrem Akdim.

Day 6: Ighrem Akdim to Ait Saiid/Hdida.

Day 7: Transport to Boutrarar, then from Kelaat M’Gouna to Marrakesh.
