An Iceland Odyssey
Experience Iceland as few do — in style. This curated journey blends iconic highlights (the Golden Circle, South Coast waterfalls, glacial lagoons) with refined touches: private chefs, boutique lodges, spa treatments, and insider encounters in the country’s most remote corners. From Reykjavík’s Michelin-star dining to hidden East Fjords estates, whale-watching yachts, and the dramatic landscapes of the Westfjords, every day brings a new layer of wonder.
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavík
Settle into Iceland with ease. After your international flight, head straight to the Sky Lagoon, where steaming infinity pools meet the cold Atlantic horizon. It’s the perfect antidote to jet lag. In the evening, savor Iceland’s culinary creativity with a Michelin-starred tasting menu at Dill.
Overnight at a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Reykjavík.
Day 2: Reykjavík to Golden Circle to Kerið – The Golden Circle, Reimagined
Begin with Iceland’s most celebrated trio — Þingvellir National Park, where tectonic plates drift apart; Geysir, whose steaming eruptions gave the world its name; and Gullfoss, a thundering two-tiered cascade. Pause for lunch at Friðheimar, a working greenhouse where everything revolves around the tomato. Then unwind in the Secret Lagoon, where geothermal waters bubble quietly away from the crowds. End your day in the countryside at a boutique farmhouse B&B near Selfoss.
Overnight in Selfoss area farmhouse retreat.
Day 3: South Coast Luxury Edition
With your private guide, visit Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, two of Iceland’s most photogenic waterfalls, plus the hidden Gljúfrabúi, tucked behind a mossy canyon wall. Midday brings an exclusive horseback ride along Sólheimajökull’s glacier-front black-sand beaches — an unforgettable Icelandic experience. Lunch is a hand-prepared picnic overlooking the glacier. Tonight, retire to a luxury cabin near Vík, designed with floor-to-ceiling windows ideal for spotting the Northern Lights.
Overnight in Vík luxury cabin.
Day 4: Vík to Jökulsárlón with Helicopter option
Travel further east into Vatnajökull National Park. Hike to Svartifoss, framed by organ-pipe basalt columns. For those who wish, an optional scenic helicopter flight over Vatnajökull Glacier offers a rare aerial view. In the golden evening light, embark on a private Zodiac boat tour at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, weaving among floating icebergs.
Overnight in a glacier-view suite near Höfn.
Day 5: East Fjords to Remote Wilderness Estate
Drive through dramatic fjords where jagged peaks plunge into the sea. Pause in Höfn, Iceland’s lobster capital, for a sampling of fresh seafood. Lunch today is a private chef-prepared meal at a mountain lodge, followed by check-in at a secluded estate overlooking the East Fjords. Relax in the spa, swim beneath mountain views, and embrace the solitude of Iceland’s less-traveled east.
Overnight in East Fjords wilderness lodge.
Day 6: East Fjords to Mývatn Discovery
Rise early for the drive north, timing your arrival at Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall, in the soft morning light. Continue toward Lake Mývatn, exploring geothermal rifts and lunar-like lava formations. Later, immerse yourself in the Mývatn Nature Baths, where spa treatments add a luxurious touch to the mineral-rich waters.
Overnight at a lakeside luxury hotel near Mývatn.
Day 7: Whale Watching & Akureyri
Today begins in Húsavík, Iceland’s whale-watching capital. Step aboard a private yacht for an intimate marine safari, keeping an eye out for humpbacks and blue whales. Continue to Akureyri, the “Capital of the North,” for a leisurely lunch before an afternoon soak at the elegant Forest Lagoon (1909 Geothermal Baths).
Overnight at a deluxe Akureyri hotel.
Day 8: Live Aurora or Midnight Sun
Take a small-group cultural journey into the fishing town of Siglufjörður, once Iceland’s herring capital, and nearby coastal villages steeped in maritime tradition. Return for an evening gourmet dinner paired with Icelandic craft beers. Depending on the season, witness either the Midnight Sun glowing over fjords or the Aurora Borealis shimmering across the northern skies.
Overnight at a gourmet lodge north of Akureyri.
Day 9: North Coast to Westfjords Express
Today is a grand transition to Iceland’s wildest region. Travel across the north coast, then ferry into the Westfjords. Stop at Bolafjall viewpoint, where cliffs plunge dramatically into glacial fjords, before reaching Ísafjörður, the cultural hub of the region.
Overnight in a deluxe inn in Ísafjörður.
Day 10: Dramatic Westfjords
Explore the rugged grandeur of the Westfjords on a private guided expedition. Visit Dynjandi Waterfall, a tiered cascade fanning out like a bridal veil, and the vivid red-sandstone cliffs of Rauðisandur Beach. For a refined touch, opt for a luxury boat cruise along fjords rarely seen by visitors.
Return overnight to Ísafjörður lodge.
Day 11: Ísafjörður to Snæfellsnes in Style
Board a ferry back to the mainland and continue south to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Explore the dramatic coastline of Snæfellsjökull National Park, with its glacier-capped volcano and rugged cliffs. Tonight’s dinner is a seafood tasting menu at Bjargarsteinn Mathús, showcasing the finest catches from local fishermen.
Overnight near Arnarstapi boutique lodge.
Day 12: Final Snæfellsnes to Reykjavík to Departure
On your final day, take a guided coastal walk to see Lóndrangar’s basalt towers, iconic Kirkjufell, and windswept black beaches. Returning toward Reykjavík, cap your journey with a VIP session at the Blue Lagoon’s Retreat Spa, a sanctuary of lava walls, private pools, and in-water massages. Transfer to Keflavík Airport for departure.
