Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavík

Welcome to Iceland! Spend your first day exploring Reykjavík, Iceland’s vibrant capital. Visit Hallgrímskirkja Church, stroll through Laugavegur Street, and relax at the Sky Lagoon for a warm soak with ocean views. End the day with dinner at Dill, a Michelin-starred Nordic restaurant, or try traditional Icelandic lamb at Grillmarkaðurinn.

Day 2: Reykjavík to Golden Circle

Breakfast, Transport (1.5 hrs), Private guided tour

Start your road trip with the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most famous sightseeing route. Visit:

Þingvellir National Park – Walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Geysir Geothermal Area – Watch Strokkur erupt every few minutes.

Gullfoss Waterfall – A stunning two-tiered waterfall.

End the day at the Secret Lagoon for a hot spring bath before staying overnight in Flúðir or Selfoss.

Day 3: Golden Circle to South Coast

Breakfast, Transport (2 hrs), Private guided visit

Drive along the South Coast, stopping at:

Seljalandsfoss – Walk behind this stunning waterfall.

Skógafoss – Climb to the top for epic views.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach – Famous for its basalt columns and waves.

Stay overnight in Vík, a charming seaside village.

Day 4: Vík to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

Breakfast, Transport (2.5 hrs), Private guided glacier tour

Continue east, stopping at:

Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon – A breathtaking 2-million-year-old canyon.

Skaftafell National Park – Hike to Svartifoss, a basalt-column waterfall.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon – Watch icebergs float in this magical lagoon.

Optional: Take a Zodiac boat tour around the icebergs.

Stay overnight near Höfn, Iceland’s lobster capital.

Day 5: Explore East Fjords

Breakfast, Transport (2.5 hrs), Private guided visit

Discover the remote East Fjords, Iceland’s hidden gem. Stop at:

Djúpivogur – A peaceful fishing village.

Hengifoss Waterfall – A tall waterfall with red rock layers.

Seyðisfjörður – A colorful town surrounded by fjords.

Stay overnight in Egilsstaðir.

Day 6: Egilsstaðir to Mývatn

Breakfast, Transport (3 hrs), Private guided geothermal experience

Head into North Iceland, stopping at:

Dettifoss – Europe’s most powerful waterfall.

Húsavík – The whale-watching capital of Iceland (optional boat tour).

Mývatn Geothermal Area – Explore bubbling mud pools and lava formations.

Relax in the Mývatn Nature Baths, Iceland’s quieter version of the Blue Lagoon. Stay overnight near Mývatn.

Day 7: Mývatn to Akureyri

Breakfast, Transport (1 hr), Private guided visit

Drive west to Akureyri, Iceland’s second-largest city. Explore:

Goðafoss – The “Waterfall of the Gods.”

Akureyri Botanical Gardens – A lush oasis in the Arctic.

Downtown Akureyri – Lively cafés, art galleries, and mountain views.

Optional: Horseback riding with Icelandic horses. Stay overnight in Akureyri.

Day 8: Akureyri to Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Breakfast, Transport (4 hrs), Private guided visit

Drive to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often called “Iceland in Miniature.” Highlights:

Kirkjufell Mountain – Iceland’s most photographed mountain.

Lóndrangar Basalt Cliffs – Dramatic volcanic formations.

Snæfellsjökull National Park – A glacier-covered volcano.

Stay overnight in Stykkishólmur or Grundarfjörður.

Day 9: Snæfellsnes to Reykjavík

Breakfast, Transport (2.5 hrs), Private guided visit

Drive back to Reykjavík with stops at:

Hraunfossar & Barnafoss Waterfalls – Unique lava waterfalls.

Deildartunguhver – Europe’s most powerful hot spring.

Reykholt – The home of medieval Icelandic sagas.

Return to Reykjavík for the night.

Day 10: Reykjavík & Blue Lagoon

Breakfast, Relaxation, Optional guided tour

Spend a relaxing day in Reykjavík. Options include:

Blue Lagoon – The world-famous geothermal spa.

Harpa Concert Hall – A stunning glass building by the harbor.

Perlan Museum – Learn about Iceland’s glaciers with a 360° city view.

End your trip with a farewell dinner at Fiskfélagið, known for fresh seafood.

Day 11: Departure from Reykjavík

Enjoy a final Icelandic breakfast before heading to Keflavík Airport. If time allows, visit The Bridge Between Continents, a symbolic site where the North American and Eurasian plates meet.

Optional Extensions:

Westfjords (3-5 nights): Iceland’s most remote and rugged region.

Highlands (4-6 nights): Explore Landmannalaugar’s colorful mountains.

Extra South Coast Days: Glacier hikes, volcano visits, or a super jeep tour.
