Day 1: Arrival in Muscat
Welcome to Oman’s capital! Settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring Muttrah Corniche. Visit the lively Muttrah Souq, one of the oldest markets in the Arab world, and see the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque if time allows. For dinner, savor Omani specialties like shuwa (slow-cooked lamb) and majboos at a traditional restaurant.
Day 2: Muscat to Nizwa
Breakfast, Scenic Drive (1.5 hrs)
Depart for the historic city of Nizwa, Oman’s former capital. Visit the impressive Nizwa Fort and its bustling traditional souq, famous for silver jewelry and spices. In the afternoon, explore Birkat Al Mouz, an ancient village with a stunning date plantation and old mudbrick ruins. Overnight in Nizwa.
Day 3: Jebel Akhdar Exploration
Breakfast, Mountain Drive (1 hr)
Ascend into the Jebel Akhdar mountain range, known as the “Green Mountain.” Visit local villages like Al Ayn and Al Aqur, famed for their terraced rose plantations and fruit orchards. Enjoy panoramic hikes with views of dramatic canyons and ancient rock villages. Return to Nizwa for the night.
Day 4: Nizwa to Wahiba Sands
Breakfast, Desert Drive (2 hrs)
Journey into the Wahiba Sands, a vast desert of rolling golden dunes. Stop en route at Wadi Bani Khalid, a beautiful desert oasis with emerald pools where you can swim. In the afternoon, arrive at your luxury desert camp. Enjoy sunset over the dunes, a camel ride, and a traditional Bedouin dinner under the stars.
Day 5: Wahiba Sands to Sur & Ras Al Jinz
Breakfast, Coastal Drive (2 hrs)
Leave the desert for the coastal town of Sur, historically known for its dhow (wooden boat) building heritage. Visit a traditional dhow workshop and walk the charming waterfront. Continue to Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve for a night tour, where you may witness nesting sea turtles on the beach. Overnight at the reserve or nearby.
Day 6: Sur to Muscat via Wadi Shab
Breakfast, Scenic Drive (2.5 hrs)
Drive along the scenic Quriyat–Sur coastal road, stopping at Wadi Shab — one of Oman’s most beautiful canyons. Hike through date plantations and narrow gorges to reach turquoise pools and a hidden cave waterfall. Optionally stop at Bimmah Sinkhole for a quick swim. Arrive in Muscat by evening.
Day 7: Muscat Highlights & Departure
Breakfast, City Touring
Spend your final morning visiting Al Alam Palace, flanked by the historic forts of Al Jalali and Al Mirani. Explore the National Museum of Oman and, time permitting, relax at Qurum Beach or shop for local handicrafts. Depending on your flight, transfer to Muscat International Airport for departure.
- Musandam Peninsula (2–3 nights): Discover Oman’s fjord-like coastlines with private dhow cruises, dolphin watching, and snorkeling.
- Salalah (3–4 nights): Explore Oman’s lush southern region, famed for its monsoon-kissed landscapes, coconut groves, and ancient frankincense trade sites.
- Jebel Shams (1–2 nights): Hike Oman’s highest peak with breathtaking canyon views and cliffside villages.
